I wish to offer comment about past concerns regarding the neighbors surrounding the RVRC field. The Club should be vitally concerned about them because complaints had been made in the past against RVRC because of over flights over their homes and noise. The AMA came in on one occasion to address the noise complaint to nearby residents. One resident across the river complained to the Salem police – several times – about flying over his house after he had sent complaints to RVRC. During a pattern contest, pilots were warned continuously about not flying beyond the boundaries established for the contest. The warnings were not heeded and the Salem police shut down the event. I hesitated in making these comments because the last time I tendered an advisory I was rounded criticized for being so negative when, in fact, what I predicted happened.
